2020 & 2021 Tissot Heritage Models: What’s New?

Continuing the streak of success of their stunning vintage-inspired watches, the Swiss brand released three new models of the Tissot Heritage 1973 in 2020. With a black calfskin leather strap, the Tissot Heritage 1973 Ref. T124.427.16.051.00 sports a dashing look with its black dial featuring white counters. Just like the other two models, the tonneau-shaped piece has a tachymeter scale of up to 500km/h and costs $2,100.

Embracing the 1980s trend, the timepiece giant then released the limited-edition Tissot Heritage Memphis. The avant-garde sub-collection showcases architectural elements based on the crafts of Ettor Sottsass, an Italian architect and designer. Four designs of the quartz-fueled line re-entered the watch scene in 2021 in celebration of Memphis group’s 40th anniversary.

Veering away from classic looks, the modern sub-collection exhibits an unconventional design. Available in 34mm and 41mm sizes, these Tissot watches are priced at $375 USD and $395 USD. One sought-after design is the Tissot Heritage Memphis Lady Ref. T134.210.17.011.00. The 34mm number has a stainless steel case and a white dial that beautifully contrasts its black indexes.

History Behind the Tissot Heritage Collection

Riding the waves of vintage watches while embodying the brand’s motto of innovators by tradition, Tissot shows its appreciation for its long history with the Tissot Heritage collection.

In a fitting tribute to the ultimate traveler watch for its 160th Anniversary, the Swiss company took a modern twist on the 1953 Navigator in 2013. The latest version provides better readability with its 12-hour markings on the bezel for the main time while a 24-hour one can be seen on the world time disk.

Four years later, two new sub-collections joined the Heritage series. Representing the period when the watch veteran produced pieces for professional men, the Heritage 1948 was again unveiled alongside the rectangular Heritage Banana Centenary Edition. The lengthy watches were first seen in 1916. Now, Tissot revamps these timepieces as special editions with its curved and wrist-hugging contours.

In 2019, Tissot released two more timeless designs from its archive, the 1973 Chronograph and the Visodate. The extremely distinct pieces again caught the attention of watch connoisseurs with their dashing and sophisticated looks. The Swiss made timepiece company continued its relaunch of reinvented past models in 2020 with the Heritage Porto and the Heritage Memphis in 2021.
